Duties of Religious Teacher in Indian army 2022

• Religious Teachers preach religious scriptures to troops and conduct various rituals at Regimental/Unit religious institutions.
• Their duties also include attending funerals, ministering to the sick in hospitals, reading prayers with the convalescents, visiting soldiers undergoing sentence, giving special religious instructions to the children and enlisted boys besides attending generally to the religious institutions and welfare of the Officers, Soldiers and their families.

Admit Card

Candidates found eligible will be issued with Admit Card for initial screening which will include checking of original certificate, physical fitness test followed by a medical test at respective Headquarters Recruiting Zone/Regimental Centres concerned.

Selection Process for Religious Teacher

Below rounds you need to qualify before final selection as religious teach in indian army.

• Screen Round (Physical Test/Medical test and document verification)
• Written Exam (Paper 1 & paper 2)
• written exam result declaration (merit list)
• Interview round
• six weeks training at BEG and Centre
• eleven-week training at Institute of National Integration (INI), Pune

Paper 1 Pattern:

Max marks : 100 marks

This paper will contain objective type questions on general awareness and will be common to candidates of all religious denominations.

Passing marks- 40%.

Only qualifying in nature, marks of paper 1 will not be counted in merit list.

Paper 2 Pattern:

Max marks: 100 marks

This paper will contain objective questions to check the knowledge specific to particular religious denominations to which the candidate belongs.

Passing marks- 40%.

Granthi ग्रंथी	Sikh candidates with Vidwan in Punjabi or equivalent standard in the regional language concerned. OR Those who have passed BA with Punjabi as one of the elective (main) subjects but have not done Vidwan in Punjabi.
Pandit पंडित (Gorkha) for Gorkha Regiment	Hindu (Gorkha) candidates with Madhyama in Sanskrit or Bhushan in Hindi or equivalent standard in the Nepali Language. OR Those who have passed BA with Sanskrit / Hindi as one of the electives (Main) subjects but have not done Madhyama in Sanskrit or Bhushan in Hindi.
Padre पादरी	Christian candidates who have been ordained priesthood by the appropriate ecclesiastical authority and is still on the approved list of the local Bishop
Maulvi मौलवी	Muslim candidates with Maulvi Alim in Arabic, Adib Alim in Urdu, or equivalent standard in the regional language concerned OR Those who have passed BA with Arabic/Urdu as one of the electives (Main) subjects but who have not done Maulvi Alim in Arabic/Adib Alim in Urdu
Maulvi (Shia) for Ladakh Scouts	Muslim Shia Ladakh candidates with Maulvi Alim in Arabic, Adib Alim in Urdu or equivalent standard in the regional language concerned. OR Those who have passed BA with Arabic/Urdu as one of the electives (Main) subjects but who have not done Maulvi Alim in Arabic/Adib Alim in Urdu.
Bodh Monk (Mahayana)	Buddhist (Mahayana) candidates who have been ordained Monk/Buddhist Priest, by the Appropriate Authority. The term Appropriate Authority will mean Head Priest of the Monastery where the person has been initiated into priesthood. The head priest should be in possession of Geshe (Ph.D.) of Khanpa or Lopon or Rabjam with a proper certificate from the Monastery.

Medical Standards

• The chest should have min 5 cms expansion
• Physique must be well built
• Normal hearing and natural teeth
• Candidates may contact the nearest Recruiting Office / Zones for more medical criteria

Physical Standards:

Height

• 160 cms (157 cms for Gorkhas & Ladakhi region candidates)

Chest (cms)

• 77 cms with 5 cms expansion

Weight:

• 50 kgs (48 kgs for Gorkhas)

Physical Fitness Test

The candidate should be able to run 1600 Meter in 05 Minutes 45 seconds
