भारतीय सेना चयन प्रक्रिया (Selection process on Indian Army) – Here is an update for the Indian Army aspirants, Indian Army has changed the selection procedure for its Open Rallies and other recruitment. From now, the Indian Army will be conducting a common written examination before the physical screening test. Let’s move ahead with the Indian Army Selection Process 2022. This is the first time in the history of the Army that the Indian army going to conduct the written test.
Till now, the applicants had to undergo the PST (Physical test in the army), PET first and then the written test but from now onward the Indian Army recruitment panel will organize the written test first. Candidates who fail to clear the written exam will be disqualified from the “Bharti”.
So, to become a Soldier in the Indian Army you should be well prepared for the written tests. The army is going to check your knowledge first instead of physical parameters. Further, the candidates who will pass the written exam will be called for medical and physical examinations.

Indian Army 2022 Exam Written Test (भारतीय सेना लिखित परीक्षा)
As already discussed, the Indian Army will conduct the written examination first and this will be conducted online. The applicants will be provided with the computers at the Army examination Centres to conduct the test online. Candidates will be called in batches for the test as per the capacity at the center.
After the application process, the candidates will be updated with the date and time for the examination with the center details as per their batch. This is a drastic change in the Indian Army Recruitment Rallies. But we hope that it will surely enhance the overall recruitment process and will give better results.

Army Physical Standard Requirement – Revised from April 2022 (सेना शारीरिक स्टैंडर्ड)
So, after the written examination, the selected candidates will be called for a Physical fitness test. The physical fitness test will be based on various standards. We are going to discuss those physical standard requirements here.
Now here comes the big news for the candidates who are preparing for the Indian Army Rally for 2022. The change is for the 1600 meters race for all categories. So, let’s have a look at the updates for the Indian Army Selection Process:
Revised timings for 1600 Meters Race for all categories: Sol GD, Sol Tdn, Sol Tech, Sol Clk/ SKT/IM, Sol NA / NA (Vet), Havildar Education, Hav Svy Auto Carto, JCO Catering, and RT JCO will be conducted as per laid down timings under two groups and marks allotted for each group is given as under.

Provisions for Extra Time for 1600 meters run in Hilly Terrain Areas. Conduct 1600 meters run the test in the Hilly Terrain Areas will be as under:
- Up to 5000 Ft as above.
- Between 5000 Ft to 9000 Ft – Add 30 Secs.
- Between 9000 Ft to 12000 Ft – Add 120 Secs.
Pull-ups: Indian army selection process includes pull-ups as well. After 1600 meters run, the second phase of the physical fitness test is pull-ups. The more pull-ups the candidate does, the more will be marks awarded. Marks distribution standard is given below:
More than 10 pull-ups – 40 Marks
9 pull-ups – 32 marks
8 pull-ups – 28 marks
7 pull-ups – 21 marks
6 pull-ups – 16 marks

Indian Army Medical Standard (भारतीय सेना चिकित्सा मानक)
Anyone who wants to join defense jobs should know the defense selection process. If you are not qualified then you can sit for the army jobs exam. The next level in the Indian Army Selection Process is that a candidate must be medically fit so that he can serve his country with his best. A candidate has to pass several medical tests to join the Indian army. The Candidate should be medically fit for the following:
- The candidate should be free from bone diseases and bone joint defects, each important bone joint is examined during the medical test.
- Your hearing, viewing, and speaking ability should be very clear. Candidates having any kind of disease or problem in their ears, eyes, and throat will be rejected from “Bharti”.
- The candidate must not have organic diseases such as disease-related to the heart and vessels. The blood pressure should also be under the limits.
- The candidate should not be suffering from any mental disease or disorder. The candidate should be free from diseases/disabilities and must possess a good physique. Candidates should not have body defects such as for overweight etc
- The chest of a candidate should be well developed and in a good shape, there must be a minimum expansion of 5 cm during the chest measuring test.
- Candidate must not possess any disease regarding internal organs such as the liver, kidneys, spleen, etc, having such diseases can give you a rejection.
- A urine examination is also done during the medical process.
- Your teeth should be in good condition.

Height of candidate-168 centimeters (It is varied according to post and area of the candidate)
Weight of a candidate-50 kg or more
